What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start up Chrome after update
2. place cursor in location bar
3. try typing a url or performing a search

What is the expected result?
Character appear in location bar

What happens instead?
nothing. delete and backspace work as does ctrl-v to paste in text.
however, entering characters does not work
