Build: 3.0.196.0 (Developer Build 21539)
    OS: Ubuntu 8.04

Other Browsers:
Webkit nightly: N/A
     Firefox3.5: N/A
            IE8: N/A

Steps:
1. Launch Chrome on Linux
2. By default, there will be three tabs opend
3. Observe the Tab

Result:
The "X" icon on each tab doesn't show up till hovering mouse there

Expected:
The "X" icon should be always displayed

Notes:
OK on Windows
