New issue 17714 by jlmoiron: url bar does not take focus or accept any
characters
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=17714
Chrome Version : 3.0.195.1 (linux ubuntu 9.04)
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari 4:
Firefox 3.x:
IE 7:
IE 8:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open chrome
2. attempt to type in a url
3.
What is the expected result?
What I am typing is entered in the URL bar.
What happens instead?
Nothing.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
When I click the chrome URL bar, I am unable to type "normal" alphabetic or
numeric characters. It seems that the keyboard focus is not kept by the
URL bar; when there is for instance a textarea in the page I am on, my
keying hits the text area instead.
If I hold down the mouse on the url bar, I am able to type into it. This
further makes me believe it's a keyboard focus issue.
I am using Ubuntu 9.04 32 bit, and I am also using SCIM as my IME (this has
been an issue in the past with some other programs).
