New issue 17879 by iceman400: NNTP: Expanded recent activities defaults to
only 6 browsing history items
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=17879

Chrome Version : 3.0.196.0 (Developer Build 21829)
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
      Safari 4:
   Firefox 3.x:
          IE 7:
          IE 8:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. open chromium with a well used profile (many downloads/browsing history
items).
2. open a new tab
3. hide the "even more" panel, so that just "recent activities" appears.

What is the expected result?
2 columns of browsing history and 2 columns of download history (don't know
about other ppl, but i get 4 columns in the expanded "recent activities").

What happens instead?
6 items of browsing history (1 column and 1 extra item at the top of the
2nd column), with the rest of the space (3.8 columns worth) filled with
download history.

if i remember correctly, the ratio of browsing to download was increased
recently (== more browsing) for the non-expanded view, so i figured this
must be a bug...

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
i am running chromium on a win7 32bit machine with the "enable-jumplists"
command line switch enabled.

please note that it seems just the initial data retrieval (a DB query?) is
messed up, because when keeping 1 nntp open in the background while opening
and closing tabs will cause these newly closed tabs to be added to the
"recent activities" in the still-open nntp and start pushing download items
off the list. however, these extra entries get cut back down to just 6 when
opening a new nntp (too many n's lol).
