This is the behavior in: - chrome/windows - chrome/linux - safari/osx - firefox/osx (on windows/linux, obviously now the apple key, but whatever key is used to click a link and get a new tab) It's by far the largest annoyance I have using chrome/osx as my browser (although some others would annoy me more if I hadn't used safari to work around them - eg importing a "bad" certificate into the certificate store).
