New issue 18884 by terhune.j: Wheel click doesn't open new tab for certain
mice
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=18884

Chrome Version : 3.0.195.6
URLs (if applicable) : www.google.com
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
      Safari 4:
   Firefox 3.x: OK
          IE 7:
          IE 8:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use a Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer with the default drivers
from Windows XP SP2
2. Go to www.google.com
3. Using the wheel button, click any link on the page.

What is the expected result?
Window should open in a new tab.

What happens instead?
The scroll cursor appears.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

The problem is that the standard control panel for this mouse doesn't let
you set the wheel click to "middle mouse button." Solution was to download
the IntelliPoint 5.5 drivers from Microsoft, then go to the control panel
and change the mouse wheel to "middle mouse button". I imagine this
affects other mice too. The old drivers worked fine in Firefox.
