My bad. The way PathFinder supports usurping Finder is a bit brutal, as
documented
here:
http://cocoatech.com/docs/pf/default_file_viewer
By re-running the "set PathFinder as default", and restarting PathFinder, I
now get
PathFinder coming up instead of Finder. ie, per the link, Chromium
is "correctly"
using the NSFileViewer setting (presumably indirectly).
Can close as "working as designed" or equivalent.
