The Right-side Chat problem is a separate issue that may actually be a bug
in that
Gmail Labs feature. I've filed bug 20073 to track that. I'm sorry to
repurpose this bug
from what it was initially filed to address, but there seems to have been
some confusion
between the two causes of horizontal scrollbars appearing, and this bug
seems to have
become more about the horizontal scrollbars not related to Right-side Chat.
