New issue 20585 by [email protected]: Right clicking on URLs should let
you go to the address, not search for it
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=20585

Chrome Version : 4.0.202.2 (Official Build 23795)
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
      Safari 4:
   Firefox 3.x: FAIL
          IE 7:
          IE 8:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select a URL on a webpage.
2. Right Click.

What is the expected result?
There should be an entry like "Navigate to <URL>".

What happens instead?
The menu entry says "Search Google for <URL>",

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Basically what I am saying is that the code which generates the "Search"
entry in the right-click menu
should check to see if the selected text is a valid URL, and if so, change
its behavior from "search"
to "navigate". I would say that 99.999% of the time, we want to navigate to
a URL, not search for it.
