Comment #49 on issue 16787 by [email protected]: Java Plugin not working
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=16787

Despite comment #44 that Java works with 4.0.204.0 (Ubuntu build 24734) I
do not see
that improvement.

Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty x86_64 with the OpenJDK/IcedTea plugin still fails with
build

4.0.204.0 (Ubuntu build 24866)

As per my original bug report:

http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=20087

The plug-in is not listed at all in a default set-up. When launching with a
helping-
hand for the IcedTea plug-in to find its libraries

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.1.3pre/ chromium-browser
--enable-plugins

about:plugin only shows:

File name: IcedTeaPlugin.so
MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled

I see the same thing as reported in comment #44 for Rhythmbox:

File name: librhythmbox-itms-detection-plugin.so
MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled

For the Dejavu plug-in I also see the console error:

[19986:19987:542001741610:ERROR:/build/buildd/chromium-browser-
4.0.204.0~svn20090830r24866/build-tree/src/base/native_library_linux.cc(24)]
dlopen
failed when trying to open /usr/lib/netscape/plugins-libc6/nsdejavu.so:
