Comment #4 on issue 20485 by gunnar.ritter: Middle mouse click on URL
should optionally open a new window instead of a new tab
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=20485

Thanks, but I really neither want to hit "shift" for this nor to
right-click etc. I'd
just like the browser to behave in the way I prefer. If that's not done for
policy
reasons then I'm unlikely to become a user of Chrome. (I'm avoiding Apple
products
for similar reasons, fwiw.)

The extension approach sounds interesting though. Unfortunately
http://src.chromium.org/viewvc/chrome/trunk/src/chrome/common/extensions/docs/getstarted.html
tells me that extensions aren't yet supported on Linux though.

Could you perhaps keep this bug open and just create such an extension once
the
mechanism works on Linux? I suppose it's really ten lines of code written
in five
minutes if you know the respective internals.

Thanks
