I don't think that either one of these is very high priority, as there are
other ways
to rename folders (right click context menu).
Also, I'm not sure if you're just requesting that F2 be hooked up as a
hotkey, or if
you want to be able to edit the folder's name inline, instead of by popping
up a
dialog.
The reason it's not implemented is because the windows version doesn't do
it either.
Scott wrote the windows version, ccing him for behavior expectations.
