Status: Unconfirmed Owner: ---- Labels: Type-Bug Pri-2 OS-All Area-Misc New issue 21055 by Yan.Mosyagin: File download sometimes fail with an error message in tray http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=21055
Chrome Version : 4.0.203.2 URLs (if applicable) : http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll- files_new.php/dllfiles/D/d3drm.dll/5.1.2600.0/download.html Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Firefox 3.x: OK IE 7: OK IE 8: OK What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Go to URL which is provided 2. Click on "Click Here to Download d3drm.dll" 3. If an error message doesn't show up, just cancel the download and click the link again What is the expected result? It is expected that there are no errors What happens instead? An error message pops up in a tray and tells me the following: "crhome.exe - File is corrupted File or folder \Users\Auren\Downloads is corrupted and could not be read. Run CHKDSK utility." (a screenshot of this message is atached) An error log appears in Event Viewer with source "NTFS" and eventID 55. Here is a quote: "Filesystem structure on disk is damaged and unusable. Run CHKDSK on the volume \Device\HarddiskVolume1." Also, a disk check is scheduled by Windows after this error appears. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. I am *definitely* sure that there are no problems with my file system. This is a fresh install and neither any other programs nor OS fail. Eventually, I've made a disk check for about 5 times already and there are no errors were found. Here's a log of one of these checks: http://pastebin.com/f2eee9d7e I think something is wrong in that delay mechanism which gives me a choice wheter to allow the download of the file with dangerous extension or not.
