Comment #40 on issue 8022 by Andrew.Rodland: Add address bar and other controls to full screen mode http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=8022
iambob: It doesn't make a difference how nice of an application thingumbobber Chrome is if it fails as a browser. A browser environment is what people need and currently spend most of their time in, and deficiencies like this detract from the usability. I do work sometimes on a 720p widescreen TV -- I use fullscreen mode to make the most of precious vertical space, not because I want less functionality! The firefox behavior is reasonable and I don't see how it's at all expensive. The top UI fixtures should be considered "hidden" in fullscreen mode, to be revealed by a mouse at the upper edge of the screen, or a keyboard action (e.g. control-L) attempting to focus an element contained within. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
