Comment #8 on issue 20421 by mierle: Closing tabs with Ctrl-w repeatedly gets "stuck" if a tab has a search open http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=20421
Wow, fast diagnosis! I use Ctrl-W to close windows other GTK apps, even when a text box is focused. For example, in Pidgin, the emacs bindings Ctrl-A,E,D,B,F,K,U all work as expected, yet Ctrl-W closes the window (also as expected!). I tested in firefox, and firefox has the same behaviour as chrome (closes tab if a textbox is not selected, clears textbox otherwise) with one important difference: FF doesn't auto-select the find dialog after a tab is closed, so you can close away. Perhaps a compromise is to only change the behaviour of the find box so that Ctrl-W cancels find, so that the next press closes the tab. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
