I just updated to 4.0.206.1 and decided to leave it running in the
background... good news and bad news.
Good news: it doesn't completely lock up anymore.
Bad news: it still maxes out one of my cores.
After leaving it running in the background for maybe 5–10 minutes, I
noticed my one of my cores maxed
out. It's still in that state. Chrome is using ~100% of one core,
persistently, for the past 20 minutes.
Interestingly, menus are fully responsive. So it's better than before.
Opening a new window and loading a site doesn't reduce the CPU usage.
Just in case it might help, I took a sample using Activity Monitor.
