I have this exact same problem. The omnibox becomes totally black for all
tabs.
It does not matter how many tabs are open, it also happens when only 1 tab
is open, it
just happens over time, when Chrome is open for longer than approx 15
minutes
unattended.
I believe it even happens when I just open Chrome in its default page with
the pages
selection, don't browse to anything, but let it sit there for about 15
minutes.
Chrome version 3.0.195.17
