Status: Unconfirmed Owner: ---- Labels: Type-Bug Pri-2 OS-All Area-Misc New issue 22166 by nathan.heagy: Animation stutter in JS-based animation http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=22166
Chrome Version : 4.0.212.0 (26441) (on Mac OS 10.6.1) URLs (if applicable) : http://flowplayer.org/tools/overlay.html Other browsers tested: Safari 4: Mediocre Firefox 3.x: OK What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Visit the jQuery Tools URL provided. 2. Scroll down to the "Gallery plugin for Overlay" heading (about 80% down the page). There is a row of six photograph thumbnails. 3. Click any of the thumbnails. An overlayed modal dialog will show up with a bigger version of the photograph. 4. Mouse over the overlay. A "next" and/or "prev" button will appear on the sides of the image. 5. Click one of these buttons. The overlay will resize itself for the next photograph and the transition is animated. What is the expected result? A smooth transition from one size to the next. What happens instead? The animation has visible stutter; the animation is not smooth. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. On Firefox 3.5 the transition animation is very smooth, as are most animations in Chromium. In Safari 4 the animation is somewhere between Firefox and Chromium - smoother than Chromium but not as flawless as Firefox. Since Javascript performance on Chrome/Chromium is so often flawless this stands out. Sounds similar to bug 19264 however the URL provided in that issue performs very well for me. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
