Comment #4 on issue 22846 by [email protected]: ChromeFrame does not
respect IE Privacy features
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=22846
It seems to me that the root cause of this issue is that users expect that
modifying
MSIE settings also affects Chrome Frame. Currently, this is not true afaik;
Chrome
Frame has its own separate settings. (The report seems to confirm this). I
don't even
know how to change Chrome Frame settings; I have yet to find the UI for
that.
If Chrome Frame has no configuration screen of its own, we may want to try
and use
the MSIE settings, so the user can at least modify some of Chrome Frame's
settings
through MSIE settings and Chrome Frame behaves the same as MSIE normally
would.
If Chrome Frame has a configuration screen (or one is planned to be added
in the
future), we could consider allowing the user to tell Chrome Frame to use
MSIE
settings where applicable or to use separate settings (with the default
being use
MSIE settings, as that will probably be what most users expect).
I'm not sure this is a bug: the "issue" seems to be by design. I see this
more as a
feature request to change our design; I'll let people who know more about
the design
decisions decide. Leaving as Pri-1 security issue for now.
