Considering the number of times people have re-opened this ("Issue X has
been merged
into this issue"), I fail to see why this is does not get greenlit. I get
that it's a
design (religious) issue, but rules are made to be broken.
OK Google, I challenge you: Find some way to take a poll of *ALL* Chrome
users (not
just those that are reading this), and report here what the result is.
"Google should make a small change to Chrome that would allow you to turn
on a
warning when the application is about to close when multiple tabs are open:

No ( )."
Will you bend if 70% or more people want this? 90%?
