While I understand that Google may be reluctant to fix this (because of the above statement) it should be recognized that ONLY Chrome seems to affected by this and not other browsers using the the same webkit (aka Safari, etc). Therefor, while it may require Google to do extra coding and subsequently keep another stack to manage the windows they create, this function remains a blemish on their so called adherence to JavaScript. Window.focus is important because of the increased "focus" on us developers to reproduce a rich app experience.
