New issue 24201 by [email protected]: chrome.toolstrip.expand does not work
on Linux
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=24201
Chrome Version : 4.0.221.8
OS + version : Ubuntu 9.10
CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit): 32 Bit
window manager :
URLs (if applicable) :
Behavior in Firefox 3.x (if applicable):
Behavior in Chrome for Windows (optional):
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Write an extension which calls chrome.toolstrip.extend({height: 500})
(or whatever other height you want)
2. Run it
3. It doesn't extend the toolstrip
What is the expected result?
It extends the toolstrip.
What happens instead?
It doesn't extend the toolstrip.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot
and backtrace if possible.
Although it does not extend the toolstrip, Chrome "knows" that it is
supposed to be expanded. If you e.g. expand or collapse the toolstrip
twice, it will throw an error saying that it is already expanded /
collapsed.
I think that this bug (and all bugs affecting basic functionality of
extensions) should be treated with higher priority, since they make limit
the possibilities to develop extensions on Linux, which will make Chrome a
more attractive browser in the long run.
