Yes, this is still happening, and thanks for your attention this is my only aggravation with an otherwise excellent browser. Here is an example video download split into 8 HJsplit parts. Notice when you download one, the file extension .avi.001 changes to .avi.001.avi? When your downloads complete, you need to browse to your download folder and remove all the extensions before you can join the files.
