Status: Unconfirmed Owner: ---- Labels: Type-Bug Pri-2 OS-All Area-Misc New issue 25026 by [email protected]: Noncompliance with XPointer Framework Standard http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=25026
Chrome Version : 4.0.221.6 URLs (if applicable) : http://www.w3.org/TR/xptr-framework/ Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari 4: FAIL Firefox 3.x: OK with FXPointer extension IE 7: FAIL IE 8: FAIL What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Using a URL in the address bar fails to recognize/parse the xpointer suffix to the URL. 2. Clicking/following an anchor link in a web page fails to recognize/parse the xpointer suffix to the URL. 3. There is no way to glean the xpointers or even anchored sections of a web document. With FXPointer extension in Firefox, it is possible to right click to get a usable anchored link or xpointer link. What is the expected result? The document in the new web page should at least scroll to the xpointer indicated section. What happens instead? The new web page ignores the xpointer suffix and does not scroll to the appropriate section. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. Please do not ignore XPointer standard. It is a major HTML/XML standard that provides huge benefits to the web.
