As I said, Transmission is set up with remote access enabled and set to require authentication. (I don't have the ip white list enabled, not that it would matter for this issue anyway). The only step I take is I type in the url for the remote interface and hit enter. http://remote_ip_or_localhost:9091 Sometimes it works just fine and prompts me for my authentication info, or just works once the info is saved. Other times It just hangs with the sample I've already provided.
