CCing Joel since he also builds with 4.4 these days and may have a working
valgrind.
@joel: Can you reproduce any of these crashes on karmic with gcc 4.4 at
all? There is
the msnbc.com and artofapogee URLS and the lapack url from 21579. I'm
hoping you can
throw valgrind at the problem if this crashes for you please? (I think Dan
fixed the
valgrind on 64 bit stuff so maybe that will work now too).
@spotrh: The mksnapshot crash is interesting - we've had issues there
before (hanging
which was related to tree-vrp and some integer/enum issue and some stack
alignment
stuff too, all of which should be ok these days). Can you run that manually
and get a
backtrace out of it, perhaps even some disassembly of where it aborts
please? That
should be probably be filed as a different bug please, perhaps against v8.
I assume
you tweaked with gyp gcc_version=44 and perhaps no_strict_aliasing=1, did
runhooks
and a clean build? You may also need export
GYP_DEFINES='target_arch=x64' ...
