kcmshell and kcmshell4 are both on my path.

kcmshell returns immediately and I get no dialog box.

$ kcmshell proxy
kbuildsycoca running...
[~]$ echo $?
0

$ kcmshell4 proxy
gives me a dialog box called "Proxy - KDE Control Module", but it doesn't  
look like
the proxy settings I'm using, because it has Connect directly checked, but  
my chrome
is actually using a proxy.
