Comment #21 on issue 12189 by punia.ankit: Renderer freezes
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=12189

I've been facing this same problem for quite some time now. I have used all
builds of
Chrome released till date (currently using 4.0.223.16 on Windows 7
Ultimate). None of
them seems to work correctly. I've noted that the browser freezes

- when I try to type in a text box
- when I'm on a webpage that has heavy flash stuff like youtube.com
(freezes more
frequently)
- when I open some link in a new tab

It's not like that I don't have a decent machine configuration. Every other
browser/application works just dandy.

I tried a lot of things to get rid of this problem on my own (like
rebooting,
clearing cache, deleting temporary files, switching off firewall or AV,
reinstalling
chrome, reinstalling OS, and bunch of other stuff too). While I was
troubleshooting,
I noticed something that when I watch some video over internet, the video
freezes but
the audio works just the way it should do. So, I thought perhaps the GPU is
the
culprit, why not get the latest graphics drivers. I did, and the problem
was solved
but a little while later, it was back again. I said, okay, let's get rid of
this new
"useless driver". So, I un-installed it and checked again. And to my
surprise, it
worked absolutely fine again which got me all confused, and I started
searching for
answers. (I don't know how long it is going to hold this time)

And that's when I found this thread. I am no developer -- just an
engineering
student. I just thought, this info may help.
