I am using Gnome in Ubuntu 9.04 Karmic. I have a Dell XPS 1530 with US keyboard. On Ubuntu install selected ES keyboard layout. Cannot type at symbol on chromium but can anywhere else (software or browsers like firefox). Same behavior happens with external ES keyboard plugged in my laptop.
