Comment #2 on issue 13590 by masover: Packing an extension with --pack-extension-key with an openssl generated private key doesn't work http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=13590
I am seeing this issue in a recent build: Chromium 4.0.263.0 (Developer Build Ubuntu build 33682) WebKit 532.6 V8 2.0.2.3 User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.6 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.0.263.0 Safari/532.6 Tried to workaround it by using http://github.com/Constellation/crxmake. Got the following error when trying to install something with a larger RSA key (4096 bits): Signature verification initialization failed. This is most likely caused by a public key in the wrong format (should encode algorithm). -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
