Status: Unconfirmed Owner: ---- Labels: OS-Linux Area-Misc Type-Bug New issue 29986 by Jose.R.Fonseca: Chrome always opens links passed on the command line in existing windows, sometimes in a different workspace http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=29986
Chrome Version : 4.0.249.30 (Official Build 33928) OS + version : Debian unstable CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit): 64-bit window manager : Metacity URLs (if applicable) : Behavior in Firefox 3.x (if applicable): Firefox allows to force opening new links in new windows from command line. Behavior in Chrome for Windows (optional): What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. google-chrome http://google.com 2. move window to another workspace 3. google-chrome http://gmail.com What is the expected result? I expected Chrome to open a new window in the *current* workspace. What happens instead? It always opens a new tab in the existing window in another workspace. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot and backtrace if possible. I organize different projects I work on into different workspaces, but Chrome's behavior of opening new links in existing windows completely messes that, making Chrome completely unusable with my workflow. I don't care about what's the default behavior for opening windows. Providing an option, in command line or dialog, to force new links being opened in new window (like Firefox and many other browsers do) would be sufficient for me. -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
