A simpler solution I believe would be to put the options dialog into a tab (more like downloads and extensions. In that case it would also be able to have one long dialog instead of the tabbed view, though even that may seem cluttered to the average user. In my case I can just barely see the Default Search section on 4.0.266.0 on ubuntu netbook.
