I believe the problem was that the extension was calling its onError
callback twice
each time a request timed out. If this managed to keep happening (which it
would if you
were logged out of gmail), requests would grow exponentially.
I uploaded a new version (1.3) to the gallery. Until we hear more
complaints, I'm going
to call this issue fixed.
