Workarounds noted, but as a user I don't want to think about this at all, not even if it's only on the first time for a given site. I just want to disable the default search magic. In fact I've known about the slash workaround for a month now, and I still forget to use it on my intranet's many dozens of internal sites, and still get the "Did you mean..." several times a week.
