This is occurring for me too, but instead of chrome crashing, all renderers freeze for quite a while, then eventually start working normally, playing all user input events that have queued up. It seems like its only the renderers that have the issue, the browser itself is responsive: i can change tabs and view the content of each tab, I can create new tabs but they don't fill with "new tab" content, I can minimize, maximize and use the page and browser option buttons. I cannot scroll, select, type, right click or do anything else in the rendered page. Reproducing: I'm copying from a terminal in on one ubuntu 9.10 machine running the synergy server, and attempting to paste into a form in chrome on another ubuntu 9.10 machine running the synergy client.
