Comment #49 on issue 2105 by tconrad63: really, really slow screen redraws
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=2105
I have just downloaded the latest beta and it's *STILL* not fixed.
I have to agree - this is a serious problem and in most cases would prevent
a laptop
user from keeping Chrome installed more than a day. I have a Dell
Inspirion, which
is a popular corporate laptop (we used to have the IBM's people mention
above).
I did think that yesterday, after lunch, it came back faster - not sure.
But after
sitting over night, each tab took about 15 seconds to redraw this morning.
And it's
basically hung - I can't look at Process Explorer or do anything. You
need to have
a cup of coffee and a few minutes to wake up Chrome!
If Chrome wanted a poor-man's quick solution - if Chrome is running on a
laptop, then
don't be nice with the memory (or cache or whatever). Or, sense that it's
been
asleep and do a total restart. But this should not be dragging on for so
long.
Also check chrome issue ID's id=8628 and id=17178 (swap into URL above).
Or do a
google search on: google chrome laptop slow redraw
Whatever I had last in each tab is sitting there for 15 seconds. I keep
thinking
I'll have left something not "work related" in a tab and have it popup in a
net
meeting :)
