Related and very easily reproduced - searching within the page over NX (eg, ctl-f) is unbelievably bad. This is due to the incremental highlighting which kicks in for the first letter (which on any reasonably sized text page will highlight hundreds or thousands of characters and add a color bar to the scroll area) and the browser grinds to a halt for several seconds. By then I've typed 3 or 4 more characters and gone for coffee. This is over a LAN (two machines plugged into the same switch), so
