If you don't cancel the dialog that comes up or you run ChromeSetup.exe
while Chrome
is still open, does Chrome installation fail? If so, what is the error
message?
If neither of those work, it seems like a problem with Chrome's installer.
I don't
think it's an issue with a proxy because ChromeSetup.exe does the same
thing as the
dialog that comes up and definitely the same thing regardless of whether
Chrome is
running.
The About box error messages are less descriptive than the install UI. It's
possible
this error is referring to whatever other issue you're encountering.
