Comment #6 on issue 14410 by rkevinhill: [www.netflix.com]: Cannot watch "Instant Browse" movies via Netflix
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=14410

This is deliberate on the part of Netflix: it checks the user agent string to see if the customer is using a supported browser, and if not, bumps them to a screen that says why they need to change their browser. If you try the same experiment with Omniweb, which allows you to modify UA strings easily and clearly from within the program, you can confirm this: it won't let you instant watch with Omniweb set as Omniweb, but Omniweb set as Safari or Firefox works fine. The solution to this kind of problem is to include a manual spoofing facility in Chromium similar to Omniweb's. As far as I know,
Silverlight on other sites works just fine though.
