OK... "selected web content" is an interesting question. Basic services that operate on the current selection should work well, mostly as a side effect of copy and paste support. However, it is also possible to do similar (and more complex) operation on the page content via the DOM and Javascript (this isn't unique to Chromium). Our current plans for an extension mechanism for Chromium (on all platforms) revolve around Javascript and the DOM--one idea that I don't think anyone has really explored yet would be how to integrate Mac services with JS/DOM manipulations. For example, it might be feasible to use a scriptable plugin as a bridge, allowing Javascript to make service requests or vice versa. If you have specific things you want to experiment with, that might be a way to do so. You might even be able to use the same approach in Safari and Firefox (in fact, since plugin support in Chromium is not yet working on the Mac, it's probably faster to try it out in Safari or Firefox first :-)). I hope that give you some ideas. --Amanda --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chromium-dev" group.
