I would support this choice because it will make it possible to keep most of chrome's design intact without big changes. Most window decos on GNOME make use of one of the colors defined in the GTK theme. If Chrome would do the same, it would probably not look too out-of-place at all. It would however be nice and if there was an "easy" way to change the look of the window deco, primarily the min/max/close buttons.
