Hello,
I'm not sure if it's the problem you are experiencing or not, but a recent
change on the SVN server made it a little bit more flaky. We are going to
fix it on Monday. It caused the server to restart 4 times today, and it
might have interrupted your checkout if it was happening during that time.

gclient sync should have complained about an error. Did you see anything
weird there?

In any cases, this is the time when the server restarted:

17:41 PDT
11:31 PDT
11:36 PDT
10:15 PDT

This problem might also be related to the vs 2008 conversion problem that
you have on the other thread. Have you tried gclient revert to revert all
modified files, then gclient runhooks (i think) to regenerate the vcprojs
from gyp.
