As the product manager on the extensions team, I'll echo what Evan said. An
explicit goal of the extension system is that features implemented as
extensions should feel just as polished and well integrated as native
features. We'd love to hear more about your design (in particular, mocks
would be great) so that we can figure out how to best support it as an
extension.
