mark, this is why i stated that i know it works on 2008SP1
and it is very much documented this /MP swtich, and so far it never
led
to any problem... not in chrome and not in my own projects

you anyways detect the environment, so you know if you run 2008 or
2005

also, i saw some people complain that their computers "melt" during a
compile
but the easy solution is to also patch cl.exe and link.exe and start
then with the IDLE_PRIORITY_CLASS
the IDLE_PRIORIT_CLASS is a trick i used for many years and it never
leads to any problems

besides, i do not with to annoy anyone
you do not have to do it :)

and one last note : when i report build erros or things
this is Always after a full re-build with your orig .vcproj
and .vsprops and i never saw it solve anything
meaning my changes do no harm
