Yeah, I noticed while I was working on it that the system seems very fragile here. It currently does work properly on the trunk, which tends to support the argument that putting the cache right in the NewTabHTMLSource will work, but this is definitely an area that I want to pay attention to as I clean this up to be something tree-worthy.
