Totally. The Sega Dreamcast had 128-bit technology ten years ago!  
Today's PS3 goes up to 1080-bit, I hear.

Also, how are we ever going to complete the transition to IPv6, when  
even "modern" 64-bit systems can't handle 128-bit IPv6 addresses?
