As many of you know, under XP, Chrome displays an XP screensaver with the title "Don't Clog the Tubes!" Under Vista, it displays nothing with the title "The Tubes are Clogged!" I'm aware as to why the screensaver isn't displayed (sspipes.scr isn't available under Vista) but I'm curious about the choice of the titles. Of course they are an allusion to Ted Stevens reference to the internet being a series of tubes, but what does the Chrome dev team mean by them being clogged and warning not to clog them?
Since Chrome in currently on available on XP and Vista, and the only way to "clog the tubes" is by running it under Vista, it seems almost as if they are urging us "don't use Vista!" What do you think? And before somebody takes this way too seriously, please don't; it's just a silly pseudophilosophical musing on an observation I found amusing. :) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chromium-discuss" group.
