Out of curiosity, are you using a tablet PC? I've also had insane
instability issues with Chrome (same symptom you indicated, plus combo
boxes and specific auto-completions causing all of Chrome to crash).
These issues have persisted through several versions and over the
course of over a month, and so I've mostly switched back to using
Firefox (I mean, what's the point of a "more stable web browser" that
crashes if I hit the m key while searching for something?).

I ask about the tablet PC issue, because I have been searching around
and found other people with tablet PC's complaining of similar drastic
"oh my god chrome crashes all the time and tabs move around on a
single click" issues.
