I totally agree with these points. Item #1 is already this bug: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=6879 You should add a STAR to that issue to be notified of updates.
You could probably add Item #2 to that bug in a comment as well. Comment 3 already mentions we need an entire Profiles Manager UI. Or you can always add a new bug at: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/entry As a current workaround for Item #2, the profile desktop shortcut that is created just contains the following in the Target line for the shortcut: "C:\path\to\chrome.exe" "--user-data-dir=C:\path\to\User Data- NAME_OF_PROFILE" You can just create such a shortcut yourself to get a Chrome shortcut for that profile.
