One of the internet's first great killer apps was newsgroups - a
collaborative discussion forum.
I would really love to see a means within the browser of reading
newsgroups similar to that in, say, Agent or Outlook (with Web 2.0
this should be possible).
Google groups is OK, but you have to scroll through a lot of
rubbish to get to the good stuff and filter out the "bozo"
posters. With a newsreader, this functionality is simple.
Would it be possible to combine Google groups with a proper
newsreading interface within Chrome - *_and_* have it work
on port 8080?
Where I am (www.tcd.ie), I cannot use port 119, the NNTP
port.
Any ideas?
